  • @allmusicallthetime63 You have to strengthen your back muscles in order to accomodate the weight and height of the leg

  • @allmusicallthetime63- It's pretty normal because the vertabrae in your lower back are being compressed together. I would ask your teacher, though, if you're doing it correctly and if there are any stretches or excercises to make your back stronger. I've found that keeping your hips forward helps a little. If you go higher than 90 degrees though, like this girl, then you have to tilt your hips slightly. Hope this helped :)

  • i've been practicing my arabesque and when i try to go higher or hold it for any length of time my back kind of like tenses up in like cramp in my lower back and hurts..is that normal? or do i have back issues?!?!?! someone help me!!

    Hi.....a combination of things....bit your 'core' strength is most of it......recommend clinical pilates on reformers......also can do work 'gently' , gently i say because dance teachers pushed my body too , way too much...have injuries.......try pulling up thru the entire supporting leg, the hips like a rock, .....umm work on that lower back stretching and your core, tummy muscles.....where do you live??.....wish I could show you what I mean....older now, Cecchetti trained

  • WHY DO I HAVE SEVERAL BULGING DISC IN MY BACK?.....BECAUSE OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING TO THIS GIRL, MY TEACHERS GRABBED MY LEGS, HAD AN AMAZING ARABESQUE LIKE HER, THEN AT AGE 27 , FOUND MYSELF ALMOST IN A WHEELCHAIR.......GO FOR LINE, STRENGTH, TECHNIQUE......NOT HEIGHT WHEN NOT NATURAL TO HAVE A STRAIGHT BACK WITH SUCH HEIGHT...........AM A VERY WELL TRAINED DANCER.....

  • What exercises can I do to gain the strength to maintain the leg up. If somebody holds it, it does go up, but if they let it go, I'm too weak to maintain it there. what can I do?
