Rafael Ukuncham, from the community of Kayamas on the River Cenepa, tells the story of his daughter who was bitten by a viper and his son who died of diarrhoea - two illnesses that would have been treatable with proper transport and access to health centres.

Rafael also describes the Awajun culture which makes it difficult for women to seek medical help, especially from male health workers. Finally he calls on the Ministry of Health to recognise that people are suffering in his community, and that professional treatment is needed to save more lives.

Rafael Ukuncham, de la comunidad de Kayamas por el Rio Cenepa, cuenta la historia de su hija, quien estaba mordida de una víbora y de su hijo que murió de diarreas las dos enfermedades podrían ser curadas si habría transporte y acceso a centros de salud.

Rafael también habla sobre la cultura Awajun que hace difícil para las mujeres recibir asistencia médica, especialmente de personal masculino. Finalmente exige que el Ministerio de Salud reconozca el sufrimiento de su comunidad y la necesidad de un mejor nivel de tratamiento profesional para salvar vidas.
