I've been learning lots via youtube.... David Side's apologize, some intros to ne-yos songs such as mad and so sick, and i can pick up some songs by ear, but are there some suggestions at getting better? i know its kind of a general question sorry.

Practice, that is what ultimately will get you better in the long run, and I can tell you with great certainty, there are no shortcuts to playing piano. All of the piano teachers, players, player/teachers have put in considerable time to hone their skill.
What will make practice fun is to play and learn songs that suit your style and ability, otherwise you may become frustrated. Reach a highpoint with your songs, and then learn a new and challenging song.
Playing by ear comes in time....
