This detailed animation shows construction progress from rebar to concrete and component installation on the three active AREVA EPR™ reactor projects in Olkiluoto, Finland, Flamanville, France, and Taishan, China.

Graphics include all reactor and safety systems and external buildings.

The EPR™ reactor has an electrical production capacity of more than 1650 MWe, which places it among the most powerful reactors in the world. Its double-walled concrete reactor building is 4-feet thick and able to withstand the impact of a jetliner. The four independent, redundant safety systems include active and passive response functions, and define the EPR™ reactor as a modern Generation III reactor.
