Tapping a vein... tapping a vein... keep tapping... The dudes of Filmsville discuss movies related to drug abuse. Shot within the comforting confines of Manhattan's pin-up themed bar Nurse Bettie. 'Cause, you know, pictures of hot, retro chicks eases the fear of a bad trip. Man with the Golden Arm, Panic in Needle Park, Dusty and Sweets McGee.

  • Why are you so high strong about glamorizing drugs in movies? I think there are more movies who moralizing drug movies than movies who show the REAL danger of drugs: they are fun. Thats why I didnt like the highly overrated Requiem for a Dreama nd why Trainspotting is NOT a glamorizing but an HONOUST film about drugs. Anyway, my favorite drug movie was not mentioned: Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

  • I'm think Requiem for A Dream is one of the worst films I have ever seen. No, I'm not joking. I think it's an insulting piece of shit that should have it's negative burned and kept from view. It really is just a film that pisses me off and I one day will do a video on why I hate this film so much. I can't devote that hatred needed to write why I hate it so.

  • I know where you're coming from. There is something deeply unprofound and false about it. It's like being an expolitaition flick without admitting it. I love expolitation flicks, but not when they are pretending to be intellectual arthouse cinema. It's an intellectual movie made by a moron. Pretentious and moralistic. Glad we agree on this.

  • I'm not kidding - the first time I saw this I wanted to punch my screen and find the filmmakers and fans of this film and confront them in a dark alley! This film insulted my intelligence! It's an pretentious film made for film snobs! Jared Leto is just awful and do you believe him as the son of Ellen Bustyn's Jewish Momma? Jared Leto is so waspy in in performance, it's hard to take. An actor like Adam Goldberg would have been a lot more believable. It's just a complete waste of time! It Sucks!

  • Drugstore cowboy was a classic.

  • DRUG STORE COWBOY now that was a great film.

And NAKED LUNCH I enjoy that one as a comedy.

  • nice Transformers ringtone!

  • not a single word about Fear and Loathing?

  • Did you intentionally turn the all the mics except your own?

  • Yeah well it's still a fuckin drugmovie, so i think it's weird that you left it out and didn't even mention it. It fuckin rules! What's the matter with you? By the way, great show.

  • Do a show on sci-fi films, do SILENT RUNNING, TIME MACHINE, KING KONG, MATRIX and others.

  • I am so glad you feel this way... Requiem for a Dream is one of my most hated movies. There is absolutely no character development whatsoever, so how can it attempt to make me feel bad for these shallow people? The movie's attempt to manipulate audience emotions is incredibly insulting, and the whole thing feels like a preachy high school health class video. This is one of the reasons I love a film like Drugstore Cowboy so much, since it has more to say than just "don't do drugs."

  • Great show fellas! How about Bad Lieutenant?

  • What's that drug-sellin b-movie with Jeff Goldblum and Lawrence Fishburne? "Deep Cover", that's it. I thought that was great fluff.

Much better than New Jack City and all its clones in my opinion.
