We steam it UP for a 2nd weekend of plowing the line clear of another midweek snowfall. When I discovered that if there is no snow for the locomotive to bust through, Garden railroading isn't as much fun! More snow forecast for Tuesday & hope it is a little deeper.

  • you lose loads of power due to slipping

  • @Splinter5570 Thats for sure the first few laps are running on some real icy rails, the brass in the snow is a real ice magnet but a brick paver slid over the rail should bust off stubborn ice build up if a few laps do not do it. And proper drainage is necessary as the heaving of saturated soils freezing will destroy your grades

  • What kind of remote controls do you have? Radio? Wired through the track? What kind of modulation is used to encode the control signals on the medium? Do you have continuous control of the reverser, or only two or three positions? How is the water level maintained?

  • @b43xoit just manual control i like to touch the warm levers at these temps

  • You need a better plow and maybe working sanders.

  • @timbg A Steam powered Rotary would be nice
