Aww. I used to have a very old budgie who couldn't fly much so he'd climb up all sorts of things to get to his cage just like yours. He was great fun to watch too. It was like a budgie assault course- you should play that mission impossible theme tune to go with this vid:D

i talk to my keet while he is on top of the cage with his girlfriend and i say "angel, come here boy!" then i do the cukoo whistle and he comes to me crouched, muttering gently and fluffing up the feathers on his face. he is so sweet.

they are so sweet. ours is now over 3 years old and talks a blue streak. He imitates both our voices (my husband's and mine)/ He's also very nervy and tries to eat our meals at breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Poor birdie...Did you cut off a part of his wings? I know some people do it to tame them easier, but that is just wrong.

We clip his wings about every 6-8 months and then let them grow back. The feathers grow back just like hair does on people. There is actually no harm in doing it. That way, during the summer months we don't have to worry about him flying out the window and getting eaten by a hawk.
