1972 BSR 810 Transcription Turntable

Whilst helping Nuttinbuttrouble do some much needed house cleaning, I happened upon this gem in the dumpster of all places. "It doesn't work", he said. Well, ALL turntables deserve a second chance so I took it home and discovered a lose cable. Guess what... works just fine. This is actually a rare turntable due to the complex mechanism. It's a British-made deck so I though I'd demo it with a Brit disc from 1962:

I'm impressed... honestly did not know BSR ever made something that good... it's got all the bells and whistles. Never seen one before! GREAT save! It seems to be perfect including the needle!

@75capriceconvertible It has been described as BSR's top of the line which, if you know BSRs, aint saying much LOL. This one is particularly rare considering it still works. It was in storage since 1989.

I Noticed That Even If You Play A 78 In Close To Mint Shape On Regular Bsr Turntables, It Will Sound Very Noisy.

@laceup1967 Haha, well you said it I didn't... BSR were known for being poplular to the masses... they did suffer a bit in quality, I remember particularly they had really crappy cartridges in them, especially the ceramic ones! Yours there is a beauty... I'm so glad to see this type of equipment being preserved!
