@TKDCats312 That might just be bad luck..., here in Germany there is one very "famous" announcer: FRANK BUSCHMANN (aka Buschi ;) ) - and he is ruining every single game he is allowed to comment. There are others, but they don't get that much good games to talk about.

The name is spoken correct, much more amuzing is: Holger Geschwindner (Dirk's mentor)... wich no one in overseas can speak correctly, but, yeah, why should they, it's just a name.

@GoofyBull33 I have no idea where you're getting that... Every gamecast I've seen of Nowitzki playing with German announcers pronounces the name correctly with the V sound. But regardless, if there's Germans still pronouncing his name in a more anglicized way, then I'm really ashamed that they've given up so much culture that even the pronunciation of their names is being altered...

Yup you are correct Dirk is German and in German the english letter W is pronounced like the letter V.
