Robot mimic gives a speech

I think we have to wait until we are masters at nano technology to built better , more human like robots.

Very nice. Extremely realistic. Excellent work. Only a matter of time until you have to ask a new aquantance : Orga or mecha?
When that happens there will be a whole new world of prejudice and political correctness... [Sigh]

what makes you say that? pretty easy to program them to blink rather than program them to talk

That's what i mean, such a minor detail that's easy compared to the rest. But so much more realistic.

He looks so dull. closing eyes and blinking will add to reality.

It is a very good attempt. However, why does it take about a second for a human to figure out that there is something off about this face and its movements? What is missing to make it feel human?

To begin with matching lips movement to words feels not right. The mouth lacks dexterity. The timing and coordination between various "muscles" seems inadequate to fool us. The neck is somehow stiff.
The intensity of the emotional content of the voice does not match the facial intensity.

Its not biological but robotics. It will never be able to be truly human with feelings, intuitions and interpretation of everything at once but surely it could be humanlike as in mimic expressions, sounds and better suited at factual knowledge, retaining info lol and crunching numbers. The day the robot will be better than human is what some humans might not like. Power struggle!
