The Young and the Restless May 12, 1992 Part One

Posters on a popular soap forum debated baby switch storylines on soaps and concluded the best was the first: Karen and Marco switching Katrina and Jenny's babies on One Life to Live in 1979. I disagree. The best baby switch ever was the plot involving Sheila Carter and Lauren Fenmore from Y&R.

Bill Bell was a genius storyteller, and this plot had viewers on edge for over a year. Remember the days when soaps told stories slowly and built up to a slam-bang finale? This is it. A double-shot of episodes from May 1992. Evil Sheila has kidnapped Lauren, bound and gagged her, and is holding Lauren and her own mother Molly prisoner in a Michigan farmhouse. Sheila also has a gun and a straightedge razor. Yikes.

These episodes are for Marco in Italy. Italians seem to love our American soaps!
