Captured live at the Global Bean Coffee Traders in Silverdale Wa 10-03-08. A 'little ditty' inspired by my cousin Stan Hoffman keyboardist extraordinaire. Two looping parts using an RC-50 looper and Alembic Epic five string and a GR-20 synth for melodic noodlin's and solos.

  • Great stuff- nice use of MIDI as well.

  • Hi Brian, :)

Thank you very much, I'm glad you liked it, though to give credit where it's due it was inspired by my cousin Stan Hoffman. :)

    Best Regards,

    Kimberly :)

  • this was a great performance... and i loved the Latin flavor that this piece has!!!

    very nicely done!

  • Hey Gman, :)

Either I missed your comment earlier or YouTube 'disappeared' my response'.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate your comment and that you liked the tune. :)

    Best Regards,

    Kimberly :)

  • I've seen female bass players, lefties playing right hand stringing - even a few who pluck with their pinky. But never a combination of all three! That's pretty unique, I'll remember you from now on no matter what. Like Bill Clements.

And nice soloing too, I like the song.

  • Hiya! :)

Nice complimentary comment, thank you very much! :)

    Best Regards,

    Kimberly :)

  • Hi Kimberly. Just recently bought a 1995 Alembic Epic V, and while waiting for it to arrive did a big search for any info on the web, and discovered your YouTube bass solos.

I enjoy them very much, and also find them inspirational.

A question please- What strings do you use on your Epic. There are so many to choose from, and I like your tone.

    Thank you, Bruce

  • It would help to understand the depth of your genius and the inspiration behind it to watch you loop the music and manipulate the drum tracks instead of catching you in the early mathematics after all is set in motion.

  • Excelent playing, wow I love it, when you going to upload new vids?

  • I play trombone, so the use of the effect blew my mind = )

  • Nice Playing .. you're amazing ! .. but .. isn't easier to play a left bass ?

  • WOW WOW WOW, I am incredibly impressed...you are amazing, Kimberly!!!

  • I played with Stan in Phx back in the day w/ Big Pete Pearson. I so wish I had gone to Austin with him. You are missed my friend.
