The photo of his brothers and cousins as pall bearers really gets to me. Two years ago, three of my sons served as pall bearers for my oldest son who, like David, died of a drug overdose, while he was in his 20s. So tragic.

David was a good guy, i was at St Paul's, went down to the Cape with Michael, David was there, he was really fun, a little lost but nice.

Almost like looking at Bobby himself! God rest your souls, RFK, David, and Michael Kennedy!

perfect song for David!

Is the person dissing David not reading what is being said. No one is questioning that drugs is wrong, no one is questioning that Kennedy's have wealth, or that it may have been easier for David to get drugs to fuel his habit. However, unless you knew the man, don't dis him so much. You really have no idea what kind of person he really was, what he was really like. The dreams he had for his life. The fact that he not only saw his Father shot live on tv right under him, he suffered from ptsd.

@006535971 unlike Lindsey Lohan, and others who have so much money, so many people watching them that they end up doing wrong to others and ultimately to themselves.

@006535971 David used drugs, and we tell kids that doing drugs is wrong, so I think he did something wrong. He wasn't perfect either. He lead a life of a rich, spoiled kid like so many others. Not knocking him. It wasn't his choice to be born a Kennedy. It's no different than today. Just like Paris Hilton born rich, and thinking that her name can get her by on all, and she's generally right. The difference is that she's been able to keep her drugs/drinking to a level to not overdose

It was great for you to post this. I dont remeber how the tabloids made him out to be...but Im sure only a few people had some ritous anger towards a government (YES, the government) who had a father heartlessly killed for all his children to see. Im sure the people who had him killed were pleased to see that his son's death only furthured their goal of wiping out the good Kennedy name.
David watched his father's assassination on live television, and I think a large part of his soul died that night. He was a kind, gentle man; and well worth this tribute. God bless you for remembering one of the often forgotten and misunderstood members of the Kennedy family.

Whoo! It has been 25 years! David seemed to have everything: wealth, looks, save a purpose to life. When tragedy strikes so hard, sometimes the reaction to it determines its hold. Some find new challenges, some mourn awhile then come out stronger, and some just can't seem to get over the tragedy.
I still remember Wednesday, 5 June 1968. People had on transistor radios awaiting word on RFK's condition all day. As a nation, we still haven't recovered from that blow.
