He doesn't, the Soul Reaver/ Defiance games take place about 15 hundred(1500) years after the Blood Omen games. The reason why he looks so different is because of age, and the older vampires get the more they evolve, resulting in Kain's more "demonic" or "vampiric" look.

After the Soul Reaver - Flame Sword is best weapon in the game. Especially against dolls and skeletons, which can restore itself).

@deathgreeb101 The cutscenes in this are CGI, Soul Reaver and Soul Reaver 2 they were all in game.
That being said, I am sure I remember lip syncing in SR2...

You must have missed a blood fountain of strength. The first one is just before Nachtholm. Just change into wolf form and jump onto the ledge with the cave.

Vorador's Mansion is coming up, and I think that marks the half-way point. Plus I have a crapload of secrets I need to backtrack for, so there's still quite a bit to go.
