Martin JRM Mars From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martin_JRM_Mars

Martin JRM Mars is a large, four-engined cargo transport seaplane originally designed and built in limited numbers for the U.S. Navy during the World War II era. The surviving aircraft were later converted for civilian use, after the war and their Navy service, as firefighting water bombers.

The Mars was the largest Allied flying boat to enter production, although only seven were built. The United States Navy contracted the development of the XPB2M-1 Mars in 1938 as a long range ocean patrol flying boat, which later entered production as the JRM Mars long range transport.

  • @Michael55443 Coming from a worthless, liberal, yankee pussy I take that as a compliment. Go away little boy, I tire of bantering with an idiot.

  • @klesmer HAHAHA! You confirmed my suspicions about you. Enjoy your trailer this summer in the Florida heat.

  • @Michael55443 My 14ft gator,Herman is a better person than you. Come on down to glades boy, Herman likes visitors.

  • @Michael55443 I mind my manners for those who deserve them. I would tell you to fuck yourself but I am sure you aren't properly equiped for the task, so go suck an egg, that should be within your abilities.

  • @klesmer OMG, you are 63? With a rifle as your profile picture? LOL! My bad, you are truly a better person an I. Be reading about you in the papers someday, I imagine. LOL!

  • @klesmer It flew, but not like the plane is this video, which is where I originally commented. Open your eyes, dick. I know all about the history of this plane and Hughes' issues. So you think you've gone far in life? Too bad you didn't learn any manners along the way. Your first comment to me was condescending and just plain mean. You sir, are an asshole. Grats.

  • @Michael55443 It still fucking flew shit-for-brains. It flew higher than the DO-X did with the original engines. There was nothing wrong with the airplane, it was Hughes screwed up mental state that put the kebosh to the whole thing. After his fight with congress, out of spite, he flew it just enough to prove a point. He then mothballed the thing to keep his detractors [ USgov. ] from ever getting any use from the project. I have gone farther in my life than you could ever dream asswipe.

  • @klesmer Look, douche bag, I did do my research. The plane got about 70 feet above the water and "flew" about a mile. This doesn't constitute being airborne, in the sense that it didn't achievement much altitude. You'll get farther in life if you stop being such a smart-ass.

  • ...able to leap tall seagulls in a single...

  • @Michael55443 The Spruce Goose did fly, do a little research.
