I have always loved the Shelby Cobra. I remember the first one I ever saw was parked on the street in Kelowna, BC Canada. It was gold.
I didn't know hat it was at the time but learned quickly that it was a Shelby Cobra and that the man behind the car was Carroll Shelby.
In the 80's I subscribed to various car magazines and ordered every free info package available from the Shelby Cobra kit car and replica manufacturers.
In North Vancouver BC, there was a manufacturer of these cars called Cardiac. My wife Arlene and I use to stop by and peek in the window. If the shop was open we would also go in for a closer look.
I recall in the late 90's that the kit car industry was gaining momentum and I learned about Factory Five Racing in Wareham, MA who had develop their version of the Cobra, the MK I, MK II and MK III Roadsters.
The also offer up a Shelby Daytona Coupe (aka Type 65 Coupe), GTM Super Car, challenge Car racer and "Larry", their new 33 Ford replica.
My son captured these shots of me hot rodding around the back country roads in my own FFR MK II Roadster. It was way to much fun!
