Ron Paul understands who holds the ultimate power (FED), but he's trying to do something about shifting that power back to the people. Don't think that the people can't take the power back. That's defeatist.
And your second "error of fact" is your opinion, you aren't speaking of facts there.
Unfortunately the Congressman makes two errors of fact:
(1) It is the Fed, not the Congress/President, who has ultimate power in this country. The official government is just the front business for the real seat of power, which is the cartel of the big banks. Neither Congress nor the President will ever do anything they don't authorize.
(2) Americans would voluntarily give up their ability to plunder one another through means of government for the sake of sound money. We'd never go for that.
