I dreamt that my body rested inside a boat that washed ashore. I stepped out from the boat yet my physical body remained in the boat. By the river, steps led up a mountain side. Naga figures accompanied both sides of the path. I ascended only to realised half way that my physical body was still in the boat by the riverbank. I retraced back to the river and asked passerby to help me carry the boat with my body up the steps. We reached the top to what appeared to be a courtyard.
Born by the River aligns my dream with my reality. I set sail with a boat over my head on May Day 2011 from Badwater Basin to the trailhead of Mt. Whitney. Sky becomes sea. Wind become the waves. The boat becomes my shelter, my home. The sun sets over the sky.
