I love Vivian. There is nothing I do not like. I'm so fascinated by her story. When the movie comes out? Where?

No, we don't. Fame is not required to contribute to humanity.

Probably not, but considering she´s dead, there is not much she can do about it now...

So sad to see that for some it is more about being in a documentary about Vivian Maier, than about Vivian Maier and the images....

Her photography is wonderful. And the era in which she worked is now so evocative of the pre-hi-tech world many people alive today were born long after. I hope your documentary explores the possibility that she deliberately left her vast collection hidden knowing it would be discovered after her death as a little gem of a look into the past.

Her photographs bring tears to my eyes. So beautiful. I think the discovery of her pictures could have only happened this way - otherwise - her process and spirit may have been tainted and we wouldn't have gotten to experience this explosion of genius

plus fame cant hurt her now. she doesnt have to worry about people prying on her, she doesnt have to deal with it

the time is right for the world to see her work, while she sleeps peacefully

as she said, now someone else will take over. especially after being inspired by her work

all these comments talking about "vivian would hate this exposure"

even if im reclusive, i have common sense to know if i leave a bunch of stuff in a public storage and im in my deathbed -- those things have a chance of being discovered. so im pretty sure she knew her stuff would be public or in somebody's hands before she died. she mustve known the consequences of not paying her storage fees would be auctioning.

well she couldnt exactly bring them to the grave with her, im sure she knew that. And so it lead to her to understand that they must get discovered ONE day. its common sense, im sure she understood that.

also, I dont think she had a problem with people seeing her work so much as she had a problem with people seeing HER. SHE was reclusive and from what the kids said about her, a bit paranoid. the photos were never seen prob because of her eccentric nature- yet brilliant

What fascinates me is why does an artist write not to be read and not to be known as writer?
