Kira is a 7 year old senior who was rescued from a puppy mill. Generally she likes to learn to retrieve but if she is not in the mood, or in the case of this video where I broke the cardinal rule of "quit while you are ahead" then she will offer calming signals to communicate that.
Notice the calming signals, look away, lip lick, blinking eyes, yawn.. then she gave a really obvious look away when I didnt get the hint...lol
(p.s. see other video of her actually enjoying learning! she moves pretty slow being a Dane AND a senior!)
Do you know why the toy makes him show calming signals? Thats really good video for that though :)

It is a great video for showing calming signals isnt it! It even shows her escalation in her communication when I didnt respond. She loves to learn and we use only shaping and clicker training, but she is a senior (7yrs) and only lasts about 5 min. She is trying to tell me that she doesnt want to play anymore so please stop staring at me with that dumbbell in your hand!! :D
