During the years, I have collected sperm of several Blue Grouse cocks. The storage of the samples in nitrogen tanks, makes it possible to collect semen all over the world and set up a unique genetic bank that can be used any time and any place. This method of cryopreservation is very important to maintain the genetic diversity of these species. This genetic material in the form of frozen semen can be stored for many years. An additional and important aspect is that it can be easily transported around the world.
It is a wild hen, accustomed to living in the aviary, not fond of being near human beings.
As the hen is ready to be fertilized, she behaves like this. I just take advantage of this behaviour.
