  • Yeah, something is definitely wrong with how the AD sounds in this video. Not saying it was intentional, but this is not how AD sounds out of the box. I'm not saying it's the best out of all these, but it sounds way better out of the box than it does in this video. I would re-check everything (buses, etc...).

  • @myopeia Everything is at default from loading it up.

Even the drum loops are partly from the Diabolic addictive drum midi pack.

I have no reason to favour any plugin as I use them all during almost every project.

This isn't a scientific test it's just a very short and quick one shot comparison.

  • You obviously do not know how to mix or play drums. AD are great and extreemly versatile, you can tweek each individual drum and cymbal to sound exactly the way you want. Use your ears man and try to tweak it some. It sounds like you threw up the AD and did nothing but with the SS you tweaked it to skew the outcome same with NISD! This was not a fair conpareison. Put all three up, same vol, 0 eq and let er rip!

  • @chimptor50 Everything here was stock. Your absolutely correct you can get way way better results from spending many hours tweaking but for the purpose of being fair and unfair at the same time I showed what they sound like when you first load them up....

SS sounds better because it sounds better out of the box, they're mix ready samples and are better suited to this kind of music anyway.

The drum loop is from Addictive Drums itself so you'll have to blame them if you don't like the drummer.

  • ahahah so what do you mean?

ssd - already processed drums,to be used

abbey roads - a bit of effects on pre recording ,but need some processes

and addicive drums - just a naked sound that need to process..

all this drums a still different and cant be compared

its like a differents between 3 not similar guitar amps like mesa, fender or engl

  • @KurtDn You can process all you like but sometimes you need to hear what it sounds like out of the box to make sure that starting point is the right one for you.

  • Not a fair demo..........Something is wrong with the way Addictive Drums is being processed through one of the busses. All great programs and you have to tweak each one of them differently. So many tricks but too much to go into here.....

  • My favorited drum programs, Addictive drums, steven slate drums and superior drummer. addictive drums sound real realstic same with superior drummer. Steven slate has real good rock and hard rock kits. Has real good snare, toms and kick. I havnt researched any other program.

  • Great comparison. Clearly SSD is best for hard rock music right out of the box. Although any of them could work.

Which do you find yourself using most in hard rock? Or do you use them all for different things?

  • Please can you give me your guitar rig presets ?

  • I think Studio Drummer is probably the most realistic on your mixes...

  • Studio Drummer is the best!!!!!! The best, the best, the best!!!!! ;)))

  • Let me be perfectly honest, I cannot hear much difference between them. I personally love Addictive Drums but on this video the cymbals sounded artificial compared with the other plugins. I like the punchy kick of the Steven Slate but other than that they all achieve a very similar overall tone.

  • I own all of these plugins and more and there isn't one that does it all. Each are suited for certain music and mixes. The Steven Slate 4.0 sounds better than the v3.5 demoed here. Depends on how the plug-in is used, and for triggering AD does very well with the various dynamic levels and their INDIE kit sounds great.

  • The problem I'm having with your comparison is I own AD and I know they sound better out of the box than what is represented here. I'm thinking about getting SS cause I really like what what I'm hearing from his program. Having said that I still think this was a skewed taste test. JMHO man.
