  • This is a great episode, the friendship between Basil and Rataxes is so sweet. And it's really funny when Pompadour is given a radio show. He (and I say this with all possible love, he's one of my absolute favorite characters) doesn't exactly have a soft, soothing "radio-genic" voice, does he? LOL

Cornelius also cracks me up in this episode, with his bird calls. "But to all you kingfishers out there, I'm taken!" XD By who? O_o

It's wonderful to have all the Babar episodes here on Youtube!

  • Finally, Retaxies has a consience to tell him right! and Babar is right, Basil is a one in a million kinda quy, and Retaxies reveals his secret friendship feelings to his good loyal employee basil. and what he is saying is true and sincerie, he may not be very brave or intelligent but he is good at heart

  • @akm2856 Cornelius is taken by Pompadour :)

  • LOL XD. I could see where one could be confused - Pompadour can be rather androgynous! And Pompadour and Cornelius do act like an old married couple, sometimes, LOL.

  • I had a tear in my eye when I watched this episode.

By the way when I was younge I was convinced that Pompadour was a girl. I mean he sounds like a girl and has long hair.. in which I thought Pompadour was Cornelius' wife or girlfriend or whateva.

  • Yeah, Pompadour looks good in teal. :) I'm so used to him in peach now, though. ^_~ Back when I was first watching the show, and I'd only seen a few episodes and the movie, I thought "what's up with his outift in the show?!"

  • I think Pompadour would look a lot better if he kept that teal number he had in "Babar: The Movie." It's just much easier on the eyes to me.

  • LOL. Yeah, I've come across the Cornelius/Pompadour shippers, as well. (Not that there's anything wrong with that). ;) I see it as more of a bromance, myself.

LOL! Now the vision of Pompadour!Letterman will haunt my dreams! XDD

  • Maybe Cornelius was just trying to let those kingfishers down easy, LOL. Although I've come across more than one person on the internet who would tell you that he was taken by Pompadour. :O

But anyway, yes, agreed about Pompadour. He's far more photogenic. ;) And when I watched this episode one time I got a rather strange and frightening mental image of David Letterman in a peach-colored suit with a cravat, wig and monocle. XDD

  • LOL! You're right - Just who is Cornelius taken by?! O_o Somehow that statement never registered with me, despite all the times I've watched this episode. XD

Too true about Pompadour (and he's one of my favorites, too). He'd be a better TV personality than a radio personality. ;) I like how the talk show set looks like Late Night With David Letterman. LOL

I love the friendship between Basil and Rataxes that was displayed in this one, too. :3

  • I like that Rataxes finally admitted his friendship to Basil, too. I'm glad that happened before the series ended. :)
