It is unprecedented for a Pope to write a letter of apology to a nation, so March 20th marks a historic day for the Catholic Church.
The head of the Roman Catholic church apologised to victims of sexual abuse by clergy in Ireland and said that action needs to be taken to reform the religious institution.
But the letter doesn't call for resignations of clergy involved in the abuse cover-ups by the Vatican and many victims say the attempt to make amends was not enough.
