Irresistibly sing-a-long Ben Watt (Everything But The Girl / Buzzin Fly Records)

Simply magic, brilliant, emotional and great, it should be a hit! Sebastien Leger (Mistakes Music)

Very retro, perfect for a chilled set Tom Findlay (Groove Armada)

Urban Torques 100th release epitomises the labels tenacious dedication to artist development, seeing the long-awaited release of Your Tiny Mind by the sublimely sing-a-long electro-pop duo, Relation. The label has been diligently working with the band for a number of years, and their forthcoming album, Fear of Night, is testament to the UT philosophy to see a job worth doing through to the end. It lights the road ahead as the first of a number of full artist albums that Urban Torque will release from artists it has been nurturing, all varying in genre but linked by an emphasis on emotive melody and song-writing.

Your Tiny Mind is wonderfully understated pop for the electronic generation. It has the groove, edge and emotion to enthral a dancefloor, while at the same time, with its uplifting synths combining with beautifully melancholic vocals, the song carries an enigmatic pathos that leaves an unforgettable impression. Powerfully irresistible.

In his review in US music magazine URB, DJ and musician Ben Watt (formerly of Everything But The Girl) described Your Tiny Mind as: A gorgeous song that comes on like a deadpan Talk Talk versus a chord sequence by Johnny Marr; irresistibly sing-a-long, shot through with pathos and an off-ramp floor-killer to boot.

Relation are Essex boys, Andy Leary and Oliver Keech. Their poignant lyrics, melancholic undertones and deep techno groove have brought comparisons to New Order, Underworld and the Killers. Their previous single Superenlightened was the BBC websites Dance Single of the Week and was supported by big-name DJs such as Sasha, John Digweed and James Holden. Relation have also co-written and featured on Solution with Superbass (Paul Harris and Jay P) released on Toolroom Records, which has been played several times by Pete Tong on his Radio 1 show. Relations debut album Fear Of Night will be out later in the year.

  • Ha, I didn't know that 80's Electro is back in business. Oh well, if fashion is gone fucked up then I would not be surprised about the music either. this track is somewhat ok. This comment is not meant to offend anyone supporting this style. Just a thought

  • I first heard this in 2007 and have been listening to it ever since.

  • It might just be good for you......
