i think movies like that probably are more for europeans :) americans pronaby just dont get whats funny about them because theyve never been to south-eastern europe

For me as a Czech it has a lot of charm too. The atosphere of Balkan, the languages, Kusturica is very popular among Czechs. I used to go to Bulgaria and crazy things were happening to me there. Like I was staying in a brothel in Plovdiv, the whores did a breakfast for me. It would be great if we Europeans cared more about European cinema. We can't sell the products like the guys from Hollywood do

@ididete i am not american but americans arent as bad as us europeans often make them look. you cant blame all the american people for their history or the small percentage of them who run their fucked up media. many people tend to know whats wrong with every other culture before looking at their own but thats something we should avoid if we want to be a better example. i found that many americans nowadays try to learn about the culture of the country they are visiting and the language etc.

@Zirc0nium69 you Americans have the LUXURY of being open minded. why? Only because your culture is not only NOT in danger -- it is in fact the culture (or rather "culture") which is shaping the face of the world. Your American "culture" is a DIRE THREAT to other cultures.

@Zirc0nium69 Plus, the people from Eastern Europe, as compared to Americans, have good reasons to be skeptical about understanding other cultures. It is because they are not Americans whose culture is in NO DANGER at all, as it is accepted by the whole world. Now Eastern European culture is hardly KNOWN in the world, let alone accepted.They HAVE TO keep it as their dearest treasure, and cherish it perhaps even more than it is worth.Because otherwise, they will be EATEN by American influence.

What I meant is that the way current American "culture" is being made, it is no longer even CULTURE, it is ANTI-CULTURE -- think of britney spears and stupid hollywood movies. There is less and less space within the US for ANY kind of TRUE culture -- even the academia is no longer a place of culture, but a place for SELLING degrees. Hence, America is headed towards a complete EXTINGUISHMENT of any culture on its territory-- and the rest of the world too

@ididete it was not my intention to make an antiamerican statement. most americans i personally met where great open minded people who were very interested in other cultures. on the other hand i met many people from eastern europe who think only within the borders of their own country. yes there are many idiots in america but show me one country that consists entirely of intelligent, fun individuals. every country and culture is awesome and fucking sucks in its own way :)

@Zirc0nium69 No it's just that americans are non-humans, cyborgs with no sense of humour, except perhaps when they are killing someone, or masses of people or whole, nations -- then they get some sort of sadistic pleasure out of it. All of the remaining normal Americans would be able to find this funny. But there is a lesser and lesser number of them every day as they are being brainwashed by the lady-caca "culture".
