I didn't use any special software for this. I just kept printing a square over and over.

Props! Nice job with less than $20! Have you thought about upgrading it? Check out the Solido how it pulls in 'paper' (plastic). You should mod the printer to actually run by itself.

The video is of material testing I was doing. I was not really impressed with the strength of the finished product so I moved on to other projects before I got around to automating it. In the last few years people have done much better than I did.

I'm thinking about producing a 3D printer from a plotter that uses wax to make lost wax casting molds so metal parts can be made easily. Simply print out the wax pattern. Place it in plaster and allow to dry, then bore some holes and melt out the wax so you could then pour cast some high grade aluminum alloy castings. They already have 3D printer AR15 high capacity magazines and lower receivers with the regular UV Teflon, Imagine precision AR15 high quality alloy lowers that can be emailed? lol

That is amazing. What we didn’t see is all the crack you had to smoke to do this ;) No seriously, that is a very cool manipulation of an old inkjet printer. I love it. Geeky but awesome especially when you consider the possibilities in the skill needed to do it. Come get some Catspit~! ☠
