Review of the Kite Runner.
"I became what I am today at the age of twelve, on a frigid overcast day in the winter of 1975. I remember the precise moment, crouching behind a crumbling wall, peeking into the alley near the frozen creek. That was a long time ago, but it's wrong what the say about the past, how you can bury it. Because the past claws its way out. Looking back now, I realize I have been peeking into that deserted alley for the past twenty-six years."
--Amir agha.

I was in kind of a rush when I did this, so I forgot to mention a crucial element of the story. It hinges not only on the relationship between Amir (narrator) and Hassan (second main character) but also Amir's father Baba. In fact, Amir's relationship with his father is entirely what leads to his betrayal of his friend.
