Have you ever been 'talked at' instead of had someone 'talk with' you in a real life conversation?

It doesn't feel good to have someone talk AT you. It leaves you feeling like you might as well not have been there at all.

Blogs can be like that and in this post we explore the power of asking questions on your blog and I share 7 types of questions you can ask to increase reader engagement.

  • heh, a video about engagement and not one question has been answered here!

I love the stuff you do Darren, but I struggle to see the engagement on your blog sometimes.

  • you have had this video on your website for 2 months yet only 11,427 views

    very low turnover ouch

  • Thanks Darren. I find that sometimes the biggest challenge is helping people get over their timidity. I think the key is that people feel you're approachable and that you're interested in what they have to say. You do it well by writing in a very human way -- you're open about your own experiences and challenges, and you're honest about mistakes you've made along the way. Great stuff.

  • And why do you want to know Ruthie? ;)
