Here Benjamin Scott plays Bach on the Hammerwood organ. I love his bright registration and this is performed using the Dr Kellner Bach temperament.
The Hammerwood concert organ is intended as an inspiration to players and audience alike, to reinvigorate interest in the King of Instruments and this organ is always available to organists for practice, with or without an audience. It's a good test for anyone venturing near St Sulpice, 1st Presbyterian Church Los Angeles, Wanamaker, Atlantic City or the 14 divisions between 5 manuals at St Paul's London.
More than merely size, the Hammerwood instrument permits venrturing into new areas of tone colour exploration.
Quite lovely! I've been up all night researching information about the National Cathedral in Washington, D.C. This seemed to be the perfect video to watch at this point. Thank you!

Glad you've enjoyed this - Ben will be especially pleased that his playing is giving pleasure. My instinct is that the organ at the National Shrine in Washington DC may be more interesting than the National Cathedral. The reason for this is that I have the greatest respect for Jeremy Filsell and his discernment - and the National Shrine is where he plays.
