I'm back! There's really no point listing the interviews for this episode, as they're all over the place.

This episode is crack. I mostly posted it to show to friends how surreal it is. Episodes with more nutritional content are coming soon!

  • 109 subscribers? I would never have figuered :). Thanks for providing a desireable service then ;)

hehe, I guess I've seen one or two episodes of My Little Pony myself during those days, since I have a sister. I, which you may have guessed from my youtube-favorites, am not a female.

By the way, I would be quite curious to see what a complete stranger could deduce about me from my youtube-account, would you care to give it a try? :)

  • Well, I can't judge well from the non-English videos. Language barrier and all.

As for the Nazi, Pedobear, and graphic vidoes? You strike me as someone who hangs around 4chan. ;)

  • Of course the non-english videos won't tell you much, other than perhaps nationality of course. :). They are swedish, which is my nationality. I don't really hang around 4chan, but I find pedo bear and the like funny. The nazi stuff is mostly on count of actually being something of a national socialist.

But I guess 4chan was a good guess given the circumstances. ;)

  • 109 subscribers at the moment and I know there's more out there that don't subscribe. I get emails along the lines of "I don't have a YouTube account, but I wanted to say 'Thank you!'" and some of the guests and crew have made it aware they're following along and laughing at how they looked 20 years ago.

I'm 25. ;) I saw the show once during the original run through a fluke. I didn't get into it, since I was more a fan of TMNT and My Little Pony. Being a girl, I got away with such things.

  • So you actually have people following the uploads? And the show was a large enough footnote to actually generate nostalgia? Fascinating!

In the early 1990s, I typically preferred shows like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, seeing as how I'm 23.

  • I'm mostly interested in how bizarre a footnote this is in Canadian media history. It's a time capsule for Toronto geek culture in the early 1990s, something that I missed out on because of my age. I'm a total nerd when it comes to discussions on cultural quirks. The reason there's so many uploads from me is because I have copies of the show. Most people don't. A lot of the people who are following the uploads are doing it for the nostalgia factor. If I can make people happy, I've done my job.:)

  • Yes, of course it's difficult to blame the show itself for the production values they're given to start out with, so when it comes to that part I really have no criticism.

Thanks for a very knowledgeable answer by the way! A cursory glance at your youtube-account would also seem to indicate that you are quite the fan :). Which elements of the show do you find most appealing?

  • Bah, YouTube ate my comment. The demographic is messed up in the context of the season the episode is from. The show was originally aimed at a preteen/teen nerds but an internal conflict about content in this particular season resulted in it suddenly being aimed at adults and placed in an not-kid friendly timeslot. Also, it's more a case of this being what the demographic "was"; this episode is from 1990 and the production values are about average for TVOntario shows from this time.

  • You're right, maybe that wasn't constructive. To be more specific, I wonder what the demographic of the show is? The comedy is tired and infantile (far too much so for adults), and the setup isnt colourful, simple and energetic enough to make a decent kids show.

  • Aren't we a charming person?
