Mila Vilotijevic - A. Scarlatti "Si suoni la tromba"

Mila Vilotijevic, soprano & Andrea Dell'Ira, trumpet, perform Alessandro Scarlatti's aria "Si suoni la tromba". Among the pieces by Alessandro Scarlatti (1660-1725) famous arias from a set of seven, for voice, trumpet solo and continuo (harpsichord and cello playing the same bass line with the harpsichord improvising harmonies). The first of these, "Si suoni la tromba" ("Let the trumpet sound") makes use of the trumpet's military imagery, and both the voice and trumpet must navigate difficult divisions and trilling on long sustained notes, much in the manner of the contest in Rome between Farinelli and the trumpeter described by Burney.

The trumpet is sublime. I would prefered a soprano with a lower voice. She sounds too teenage-like, a sort of Gilda. But her singing is beautiful.

Aquí, la trompeta está demasiado omnipresente, llegando a veces a cubrir la voz de la soprano y demás instrumentos. Debería de haber tocado un poco más bajo para que hubiera armonia en todo el conjunto.La voz de la soprano es bonita, pero en algunas agilidades, la fuerza un poco, lo que provoca el cambio en el color de la voz.
