Automated Welding Robots at the AWS welding expo. brought to you by http://www.weldingtipsandtricks.com

Dont worry. These welding robots are not going to take your job. But you better study and learn how to program and troubleshoot. Employers need smart welders who can program a robot, or make the weld manually when called for. Be the man and do it all.

  • Until I see a welding robot that can go from on the truck, to welding up a bad joint under a pipeline in the mud in less time then it takes a human, there is no way they will replace us.

  • @MarkProffitt your a fucking dumb ass

  • Aside from saving me time these robots protect humans from injury. Welding and cutting is dangerous. These robots literally save lives and limbs. Now that is a smart way to cut medical costs.

  • Robots will be in the field, home and in factories if factories still exist. Custom everything will be available to everyone because of robots. 3D printers and CNC devices will mean no wasted shipping or production. Need something, download it, tweak it to your desire then press print.

What we need is more families owning these devices so they will not need jobs. If you can gather the raw materials and energy then automation will allow you to retire at birth. You choose how to spend your time.

  • You are also looking at your future surgeon.

  • I wouldn't call them junk. Although they are built from scrap metal (some of them) how dexterous they are is mind blowing. Now with that they won't replace man on work sites but in a factory of course. You don't have to pay a robot for anything, it will work day in and day out and always perform consistently. So my verdict stands as in factories robots shall reign, but out in the field is were we'll be.

  • They may replace a human doing a repetative weld all day & night. I don't see them being able to replace a human to fabricate a custom piece or to think on the fly. I also don't see them replacing iron workers, pipe fitters, boiler makers, and all the other crafts!! Stupid robots, their junk anyways.
