The Weather Channel - Weather Center - Columbus Day 2001

Jeanetta Jones and Jim Cantore (filling in for Rich Johnson) host Weather Center on Columbus Day 2001 as Hurricane Iris is getting ready to make landfall. Note the special opener used for this post 9/11 show. By this point in October, I seem to remember the morning/early afternoon editions of Weather Center using this music, while the evening versions of Weather Center used the standard Weather Center music. I can't remember whether or not Evening Edition was still using their post 9/11 opener at this point. By the end of the month, all of the TWC shows were back to using their normal openers.

Since I did not have cable at the time, i have a question. What was the weather channel like on september 11th 2001??

@metsfreak4life They still went on with the normal weather shows since they're not like the current news-oriented TWC, but they payed respect to 9/11 by not playing any music for the shows whatsoever, and they offered their condolences at the start of every hour.

I remember this open too because they use this open as the Afgen war start almost a month after 9/11.

If only the weather forecasts were this comprehensive and to-the-point nowadays; instead, TWC is almost like a news station instead of a strictly weather station.
