Andy here with Proguitarshop.com and today we're checking out the Fulltone Plimsoul Overdrive/Distortion. This simple pedal combines the best of both worlds, the soft clipped tones of a screamer type overdrive and the growl of hard clipping pedals such as the Fulltone OCD. With the Fulltone Plimsoul, you can blend in each stage to create fat, complex overdrive and distortion like you've never heard before. The smooth, bluesy uncompressed overdrive resides in the Plimsoul's sustain knob while the symmetrical clipping of stage 2 tells you how much realistic power tube style distortion it's delivering by a responsive LED. This extremely dynamic pedal cleans up by light picking or your volume knob, not to mention the Fulltone Plimsoul can take anywhere from 9 to 18v for all the headroom and cleanliness you need. Like all the Fulltone products we carry, the Plimsoul Overdrive/Distortion is high quality and true bypass. - http://proguitarshop.com/store/effects-overdrive-pedals-fulltone-overdrive-pe...

  • Does PGS ever demo a pedal they don't like? There has to be a pedal that was near impossible to get a decent sound out of.

  • @phriend2spin - We only demo products that we carry in our store, and we only carry products that we like. Also, there really aren't very many truly bad pedals on the market. The vast majority sound quite respectable if used as intended, illustrating the fact that tone is much more about the player than the gear. Great gear helps, but it's irrelevant without the hands and ears of a good player. Thanks for watching!

  • One of the best Plimsoul demos.

I've been buying and selling pedals since 1984. Believe me this is a is a great pedal.

    Try it Junior!!

  • @AsteroidsFlight Ok so when you use long pedals they tend to suck a lot of the higher frequencies of your guitar before they hit the amp. A Buffered Pedal like most BOSS pedals have something which "pushes" the signal of your guitar harder so that you get less of this tone suck when the pedal is off. However sometimes means that the tone is changed from the original signal from the guitar because it is of poor quality.

  • @ghleath In any video review I've ever watched where they reply to that same question, the answer is always Core X2 Cables. So I would have to assume that that's the case here as well.

  • what does true bypass mean ?

  • shoot to thril!! \m/

  • @mrnose55q The only difference is that a tube amp is powered by tubes, you can do the same things with both (:

  • @mrnose55q It will work fine. Most people don't think it will sound as good, though.

  • fantastic pedal!!!!

  • does this work with solid state amps also?
