This should be played in a Vietnam movie

The so-called ‘Flower power’ movement was comprised of the generation that spawned this lyric, as well as a significant proportion of the white kids that vigorously supported civil rights.

Always loved the Staple Singers and Buffalo Springfield and For What it's Worth but never new they (the Staple Singers) covered song....thank you!
Just noticed that the cover on the 45 says 'Stop hey WATCH that sound' on the cover (at :14 and 1:37)...pretty funny.

@13heavymetal WORD! Imagine "Lord of War" begin with the original, and then with this cover. Un-freacking-touchable, like a freacking blur!

Original = untouchable.

Ilike this version alot, but honestly, I prefer the original.

what a great cover .

With all due respect, Jimmy: "RIP Flower Power"?
I can't see how the Staples and whatever you consider "Flower Power" are mutually exclusive.
In 1967, we were all pulling in the same direction.

RIP Flower Power? That must be why the world's in such great shape these days...
How the hell did I never know about the Staple Singers before? THANK YOU Resistance 3!

This is such an amazing version of this song, I have to get my hands on this 45 myself. Pops Staples was amazing on the guitar, he is still very much missed. His legend lives on through his music and his talented children. Thanks for posting this.
