@kimrabb How very cool you have this grand insight into my narrow whiteness....Be nice if i had a clue as to what the hell your blabing about....But please be my guest.

@samsherwin01 To quote Imari Bari ( very famous poet): "It all depends on the skin that you're living in..." You simply can not validate or invalidate the racial experience of a person outside of your own race, it is utter silliness to presume you speak with authority about another persons racial experience and/feeling regarding how they react, I hate to say it but it sounds ancient and superior and disrespectful. You know the White Male experience, that is all you know with authority.
-
@samsherwin01 There is no way to understand just how silly and insensitive to have said "I am a white male who WAS married to a Japanese woman..." That means NOTHING, that is such an colonial/imperial out-dated thing to say. There is NO way I could tell my Asian/Black cousin who to feel, why they should feel it blah blah blah just because we are related ( and that is by blood not paper work). How insulting, how narrow, if you, everything is not in need of white validation , get over yourself.
-
@samsherwin01 I was not going to say anything until I read the "obligatory" statement about not belonging to the race of people you are speaking about then qualifying yourself via just knowing or marrying a person from a different race. I am African America and from a VERY multicultural family that includes Asians born here and in Asia. We would NEVER speak on any authority about another race, it does not matter if you married into it or not, it is not your racial experience or culture.

@blackiponki Suggestions? What can I do about it? Take it up with who? Who will listen? What are you talking about "Jews on the media"? You've got to be kidding right? MGM, AOL Times Warner, Disney, Universal Studios, Viacom, NEWS corp., ABC, NBC, CBS, Turner Broadcasting System, CNN, MTV..... They PWN the media for Buddha's sakes. Have some common sense.....

@samsherwin01 The One Unchanging Truth is, as we have witnessed throughout history--- Minorities are always on the losing end. In the mean while I'm glad that at least I'm free to go on Youtube and see my fellow Asian Americans represent themselves without stereotyping. On here, I get to see Asians who don't speak broken EngRish, not a villain in a kung fu flick, and who don't actually beat their wives (for what's it's worth, a disgrace of a propaganda you call a 'novel' aka The Joy Luck Club)
the book is so raw, im just radiant in the face that i am watching the movie rite now

if you have read the book then you would have known that its not a racist remark in anyway. if you really have so mucch problem with it then why don't you go take it up with the writer herself or perhaps with the american people instead of being such a smart aleck? i dont see any other people making noise about jews being on the media. its not like they dont make digs at chinese people or muslims so i dont see what you have to gripe about.
