Tawn was a beautiful soul, who cared about people. Her presence on KNAC was compelling and she is sorely missed. Everyone should support the Tawn Mastrey Foundation and help to find a cure for Hepatitis C, so that other person don't die from this senseless disease.
We miss and love you, Tawn.

Not only her, but Mr. Earl Root who DJ'd at KFAI 90.3FM for over 20 years but lost the battle with cancer in 08. I lost my job in Sept of 2007, and things will never seem the same, that's for sure!

This was beautifully, done, Karpis. It made me cry. I listened to KNAC from beginning to end, and she made it so special. I even got to meet her, she was awesome. The world was richer for having her in it for an albeit bried time. -Dee, former KNAC Pure Rock Patrol

Tawn died last Oct 07 from Hepatitis C. I've started a Foundation in her name recruiting many of her musician friends to do musical projects to set out Tawn's last wish in order by getting the word out to Stop the spread of the deadly disease by getting tested. 1 out of 50 people have been infected by the virus and dont know they have it and unknowingly are passing it to others blood to blood. Stop the suffering and as Tawn says, "Live long Rock Hard"!
Thank you.

Tawn passed away last year from Hepatitis C.
I've started a Foundation in her name and am recruiting her musician friends to give Tawn her last wish, which is to raise awareness to STOP the spread of Hep c by getting tested.
1 out of 50 people in the world carry the disease and don't know it and are unknowingly spreading the deadly virus through blood to blood. The numbers will triple by 2012 if nothing is done. Stop the suffering, get tested, and as Tawn says, "live long Rock hard"!
RIP Tawn!

Could someone please tell me how Tawn died????
I worked with her at KNAC and spent a lot of time with her when she worked in the Portland market. She was one of the most positive people I ever met in the industry and am heartbroken to hear this tragic news! - Rebecca (formerly "Ravishing Rebecca of KNAC)

I was saddend to hear the news of Tawns fight for life and then her passing, I used to love listening to her in the afternoons at 105.5 KNAC and then pleasantly surprised to hear her on Sirius after all those years. I'll miss her always. As for another song for her tribute, if you wanna go ballad I was thinking "The Angel Song" by Great White. Remember they thanked her on their "...Twice Shy" album and didn't they dedicate "Mista Bone" to her?

Thanks Lady Lora, I'll look through my archives for that song. I used to listen to Tawn here in the Twin Cities on 93x and on Sirius, to wich I cancelled my subscription because of Howard Stern's treatment of callers asking about Tawn.
