2008 Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Special Shapes

This is what we woke up to today. The sirens are because the wind picked up unexpectedly and caused several balloon accidents. Unfortunately, one balloon got caught in some high voltage cables, killing one and severely injuring another.

The one that crashed was Wings of Wind. It was a shame is had to end that way. It canceled the entire balloon fesita! well almost SMOKEY IS STILL GETTING FIXED!

on the field they weren't bad, but to the north in Rio Rancho and Bernalillo they were about 20 to 25 m.p.h.
