@WarpeaceWar6 The Mac Store ended up giving me a new one :D The broken hinge seemed to be a defect amongst the first generation of Macbook Airs. Hence, they gave me a new one, with the redesigned hinge. Disappointed that all my files are gone off my old one, but I really can't complain. And you're definately right, Mac's retain their value years after their release.

@nakedvolleyball its called viewing angles. Its a sign of a good quality screen. People are willing to pay 1000 dollars for an ups screen...whats the only bonus you ask? That you can view it from anywhere that you can see the screen unlike that ibm thing.

@sidondon2 and then sell it for a few hundred more. Its a mac...not a pc....it retains a value even after 3 years and a repair

Wow look how good the Mac screen looks compared to the IBM.The IBM looks like its flickering. I just got the new Air and the hinges are huge and strong now. I guess apple took notice of its customers.
