2010.07.26 - Is Jesus a Legend? Did Jesus even exist? Is there no historical Jesus? Well, believe it or not, there are kooks out there who belive Jesus didn't exist! This view has been known as "The Jesus Myth Theory" or "The Christ Myth" theory. Of course any scholar of history will tell you this view is absolutely ridiculous. Nevertheless, there are documentaries (from" Zeitgeist" to "The God Who Wasn't There") and New Atheists (Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, and Christopher Hitchens have expressed doubt that a historical Jesus existed!) and deluded, radical, and so-called "historians" (like Richard Carrier and Robert Price) who think this view has merit. To be fair, most atheists believe Jesus existed. But it appears that the Internet is filled with these wild and bizarre speculations. Dr. Phil Fernandes sets the record straight on the historical Jesus and deals with these Christ Mythicists.
