yep, just before the town gate (in my town it is) is a busstop. get up there, "talk" to the sign, and you are asked "wanna go to the city?"
say yes. done.

This was a demo.
And this is NOT better than the DS version. There is very little difference between the two. VERY little. If you already have a DS, or if that one is cheaper, I'd stick with that one only because this one is technically the same game. :/

Indeed it was. I've never played any of the Animal Crossings but that one (and I've still yet to get that trophy in the front of the town) for fear of being disappointed. I'm sure I won't be if I get this one.

You see, the graphics obviously aren't going to be "Super High Def I Can See A Speck Of Dust On His Shirt" good. It's the simplistic feel that draws in the crowd. What did you expect really, realistic grass? It's Animal Crosing.
