The Only Ones - Another Girl, Another Planet - Live in Madrid

The Immortal Classic. The Only Ones play their first ever Spanish gig on 19th Feb 2009, appropriately enough in the legendary club Sala El Sol which is celebrating 30 years in existence - rather like them. Rough mobile phone quality, but gives it a pleasingly punk touch I feel. Some wobbliness due to Spanish crowd going bonkers, leading to desychronisation of image and audio. You have the added bonus at the end of a friend grabbing my filming arm, having arrived - inebriated - in time for the encores and declaring "It's all gone pear shaped". A truly British moment in a Spanish club. Bless you Rob, over there in Brazil.

Yeah well done who got this on. Why is Peter still alive? No conoco. No esta scientifica. One of the only acceptable guitar solos that exceeds a minute. I'm 50 next year. Peter (a scientific anomaly) was coasting on gear that night and a few years later I was too.I lived in Madrid 2002-3 trying to get clean (i didn't then ).Probably best he wasn't there then-by then we knew people in common.
