@Baseshocks Legend of the Rangers had a lot of good ideas, but which didn't work out. Like the ship's fire control system involved having the gunner go down into a holographic chamber and firing the ship's weapons by punching and kicking at the enemy, basically doing kung-fu in space. Unfortunately, the actual effect just made them look like they were having a spaz-attack in zero-G

@weldonwin I actually like The Crusade from what i understand the network wanted too much control over the show for example the uniform change was one the network wanted more of a star trek feel i guess. Michael Straczynski said fuck you to the network from their meddling and canceled the show. Too bad The Crusade had real promise to continue the franchise. Legend of the Rangers was complete ass i could go on forever bitching about ever aspect of that show but ya.. i wont lol.

@antiprozacnation I agree, season 4 finished off the story arch with earth though, season 5 well..... i could not give a shit for the runaway telepathic peeps. I hate what they did with Garibaldi. They could have stretched the conflict with earth though.

@weldonwin I'd love a new series too. I don't think a remake would be necessary at all. The CGI may not always be fantastic, especially season 1, but overall the series has an art style which doesn't really feel like it goes out of style. It works, and works as it is.

@notablegoat I'd like a new series, set in the B5 universe, but I really don't think it needs remaking. There was of course two attempts at SPin-Offs; Crusade which only lasted one season and Legend of the Rangers, which only had a pilot movie and really wasn't very good

the new bsg was definitely something but for me it didnt even come close to this ... after the shadow war was fought it dropped a little but most series have this thing where they just dont know when to quit, usually after season 3 inspiration seems to get thin

@notablegoat It's been attempted many times to continue the B5 story, and with the hints to future events, and the books that cover some, the B5 definately has many stories that would be much more interesting to watch than anything Galactica had. That isn't a shot at BSG, that too was a good series.

Problem is, as timemonkey said, executives would just try to change too many things. Hell just look at what happened to the proposed shadow movie.
