This is the second part in the forgotten warriors series. This one's about Buddy McGirt. I'm sorry that it didn't include the simon brown fight, and I'm really sorry for the bad quality at times, it's really hard to find footage of him. But anyway, hope you all enjoy. Peace (I do not own the rights to these clips or the songs)

In 1988, McGirt defeated Frankie Warren, avenging his only defeat, to win the IBF world junior welterweight title. In his second defense, he lost the title to Meldrick Taylor. Three years later, he upset Simon Brown to win the WBC world welterweight title.

McGirt lost the title to Pernell Whitaker in 1993. The following year, he again lost to Whitaker in an attempt to regain the title. In 1997, McGirt retired with a record of 73-6-1 (48 KOs).

  • Total badass.

  • Hi Buddy... I'm cannot locate the video of one of your more memorable fights... when, I believe, your mother climbed into the ring after your bout?. I also think she was a little bit upset? Can you advise me please? Stay well and Season's Greetings to you and yours. P,S, I'm a Miami former 1970's Golden Gloves judge & referee volunteer!
