Well presented, good to see someone encourage people to hit bricks and not belt the daylights out of the level as a lot of bricklayers tend to do.

get a lump hammer and hit the level

@StevesBricks go on a real site and say that =)

Also noting, as you have used the teachers method of hitting the brick, your third course down the header is off a mile.

i bin bricky for 8 years now. 1st 3 did not hit my level, was only normal £30 level. then i met some1 who was laying over 1000 bricks a day who had a good level around £120... he could knock the shit out of. makes setting up corners and lines alot fasted. but i do agree its a bad habit, but one i wont be breaking soon. PS had my good level 5 years now still as accurate as 1st got (u get what u pay for) good vid

I was waiting for him to say, "You're only supposed to blow the bloody doors off".
*How to really use a spirit level*
Lay beds evenly, lay bricks close enough (within 5 mil) put level on wall, hit level (decent make!!!) with trowel.
Foolproof.

@gordthelord12 If you hit the level it will not remain accurate for very long. this is not good practice and trades people, i hope, tend not to do it.
