Emilys mom was Paige a woman monica met while she had cancer. paige was dying of breast cancer. They became best friends and when paige died she asked for monica and alan to raise emily

Me too...I hated when they replaced SK with BW...although Billy was "all right" I LOVED Sean as AJ.
