You should check out my band, http://www.myspace.com/pyreweb

Peter Chapman of Pyre plays Rebellion In Dreamland, by Gamma Ray, from the album Land Of The Free, on drums, December 2008.

Audio file overlaid afterwards, hence why it's slightly out of sync in a few places (that, and the track I was listening to was occasionally drowned out, making it very awkward to keep in time with).

Drum setup at time of recording:

2x 22" Bass Drums,
2x 16" Floor Toms,
2x 13" Rack Toms,
2x 12" Rack Toms,
1x 14x8" Snare,
1x 14x5" Side Snare,
1x 8" Cowbell,
1x 8" Splash,
1x 10" Splash,
2x 14" Hi-hats,
2x 16" Crashes,
2x 18" Crash Rides,
1x 18" China,
1x 20" Ride,
Vater 3S Sticks.

Very proud of this one.

Shirtless out of necessity - get way too hot otherwise!

  • What's with the angle of your snare drum? God that looks uncomfortable as shit.

  • Ah, that's a matter of trying to keep the angles between the drums smooth - the bass drums there, and the toms in a solid line, they have to be pretty high up. Conversely, I like the snare low. As such, to go from snare to tom easily, the angles have to be pretty steep. I much prefer it that way actually, but I doubt it's that good for the drum skins.

  • Why is your china upside down?

  • everyone keep their snares in the angle what they like most, not ur buisness

  • maybe it's the mic but you're snare sound like a carton box; try to use less power on your hits so you can be more accurate and put everithing in a confortable place because you look really unconfortable with your kit...

  • I'm sure that with a better recorder microphone will sound much better

  • cymbals sound like shit :D

  • well i noticed a slight difference but yes they still move great =D
