  • I've been opening up to these lines of thinking recently, and I've got to say this is the greatest period of self-growth I've had in a long time. It's really refreshing.

  • @hackingpete I'd argue that 24hr, 365 day a year labor CAN be used in exchange for debt while slavery is power of life and death over another which a society based on freedom cannot have--by definition. Libertarians using "slavery" in any way non-literally is like your dentist using the world "teeth" figuratively, y'know? So either Libs' freedom project actually just leads to slavery anyway--making us a joke--or we're not using it literally--making us similarly hard to take seriously.

  • @dantean if you borrow from a lender, are you not beholden to them? sure, they may not be able to tell you what to do with your life, but they can make a legal demand on your money.

  • @Exhalent I agree completely.

  • Thanks for you book. I live in Ukraine (form. USSR) and I was very glad that libertarianism is penetrated into our country.Including through your book.

  • If you REALLY want to change people's minds regarding freedom I suggest a wider dissemination of Block's view that slavery should be made something people may enter into by contract--that freedom SHOULD be something from which a person may alienate him or herself. After all, people (i.e., statist fascists) remain convinced that slavery is NOT freedom when it manifestly IS! I once was against slavery until being convinced by Block and others that to be AGAINST slavery is to be FOR slavery! Yay!!!

  • @potterfan392 But you still haven't said why killing is only justified when someone is an immediate threat.

  • @Anime12160 never too early to learn about Liberty.

  • i think i am too young for this

  • @Exhalent Do me a favor and read the essay at this link. Just bear with me for like half an hour and look through it. Please.
