Colin Smith shows you a little known way of easily creating a fake HDR look. This allows for a single Image HDR style look in Photoshop. From his HDR and Photoshop (CS5) SECOND EDITION title with PhotoshopCAFE. http://www.photoshopcafe.com/video/products/HDR2.htm

  • I agree with you 100%. I have several videos on my channel that discuss real HDR. (The majority of my DVD discusses natural HDR with 3-7 exposures to extend the dynamic range) However, who are we to decide other peoples taste, some people like the Pseudo HDR look (Which is not HDR at all, but more a mid tone expansion/ boost) and that's their choice :)

  • Call it pseudo-something-else, not HDR. There are much more efective technics to fake HDR than this.

  • I wish people would just stop with the whole pseudo HDR nonsense! It's not HDR, it doesn't look like HDR, it's just a stylized look... and not a very good one at that!

It's impossible to fake HDR and it's pointless to try and do so.
